  2. Sending and Receiving Messages: Understand how to send and receive FIX messages, including subscribing and unsubscribing to currency pairs, placing different types of orders, and handling responses from the server.
  3. Error Handling and Troubleshooting: Get insights into handling common errors and troubleshooting connectivity issues. This includes understanding and managing sequence numbers, SenderCompID, and TargetCompID.

The Java POC can be downloaded from here.

Creating a Stream/Trade Connection

To establish a successful stream/trade connection with PrimeXM’s FIX API, you’ll need to define a FIX4.4 session configuration. This involves configuring a SessionSetting object with the necessary details:

  1. Target Server IP Address and Port Number
  2. Login Username and Password
  3. Sender and Target CompID
  4. Reset on Logon
  5. Socket Use SSL

All these configuration details are contained in the Connector Config Setting. Please ensure that these settings are correctly configured to establish a successful connection.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues while connecting, please refer to the following checklist:

  • Confirm connectivity by using Telnet to the provided target IP and ports.
  • Ensure SSL is disabled for the Pricing Session and enabled for the Trading Session.
  • Check the Sequence number reset settings for each session.
  • Make sure the SenderCompID and TargetCompID are correctly set.
  • Ensure your username and password are correctly entered.
